All the police departments of the member countries of
Interpol have units which provides cooperation and communication with General Secreterait
of Interpol member countries` police departments and concerned other international
organization. These units work with other Custom, Land, Air, Marine borders,
administrative and financial organizations beside local security units. The unit which is
presented in the presence of Interpol is Interpol Department of General Directorate of
Security.
Our country has gained the membership of Interpol Criminal Police Organization(ICPO)- INTERPOL on 08 January 1930 with the decree numbered 8761 signed by
Atatürk and since then taken part in effectively in Interpol.
In struggling against international crime and criminals, Interpol Ankara which uses the
motto "For struggling against international crime and criminals, coordination at
home, cooperation in the world", develops itself according to the world's
developments.
Today IP ANKARA has five division:
International Anti-smuggling
Division,
International Anti-terror and
Petite Crime Division,
International Judicial
Assistance Division,
International Research,
Evaluation and Statistic Division,
International Communication and
Liaison Division.
